FOUNDER & CEO

Hunter is the founder and CEO of Cirona Labs, which he started while he was studying at Cornell University. After conducting a study of hemp farmers in New York in conjunction with the National Science Foundation (NSF I Corps), he saw an opportunity to develop a higher standard for cannabinoid ingredients.

Hunter is a passionate entrepreneur who founded a technology startup in his early Cornell days. Since then, he has built an expert team and led the business to new market partnerships in New York, California, and Thailand. Hunter holds a committee chair position on the New York Hemp & Cannabis Growers Association.

CO-FOUNDER & CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Alan Davis brings over 30 years of food and beverage manufacturing experience to the Cirona Labs team, including leadership roles at Lidestri Food & Drink and Berner Foods. Alan’s early career focused on gaining hands-on experience on the manufacturing floor in engineering, maintenance, and operations, and has led the business side in more recent years.

Alan adds expertise in business management, supply chain, manufacturing operations, strategy, business development and product commercialization. Alan holds an Engineering degree from RIT and is on the board of directors for the Associated New York State Food Processors Association.

CO-FOUNDER & CHIEF INNOVATION OFFICER

LJ has been in the candy business for over 36 years. He started in his family business, Ferrara Pan Candy Co working his way up from cleaning the floors to the Board of Directors and everything in between, until the sale of the company in 2017 for over $1.4B USD.

After the company’s exit, he joined Sublime, a California-based cannabis company, as the SVP of Edibles. He developed and launched the first edible line for Sublime, assisted in capital raises, and used his expertise and contacts to help expand Sublime’s edible product offering. LJ has an BBA from SMU and an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Business.

BOARD CHAIRMAN & FOUNDER

Cliff has a long and impressive history of advising and scaling start-up companies. He has been an entrepreneur in technology, telecommunications, software as a service, and online marketplaces for the past 40 years. He has founded six companies in content creation and delivery, telecommunications, and internet technology.

Presently, Mr. Friedland occupies the position of Chief Strategy Officer at both Onstream Media Corp. and its subsidiary company, Infinite Conferencing, Inc.

SECRETARY, BOARD DIRECTOR & FOUNDER

Penelope brings a diverse skillset to the Cirona Labs advisor team. She’s led successful ventures in entrepreneurship, print media, and luxury real estate industries.

Penelope is also heavily involved in South Florida’s civic activities, chairing both the Planning & Zoning and Community Enhancement Boards. She currently serves as District Asst. Lt. Governor with Optimist International, an international organization helping underserved children in the community.
